If you ever visited Lake Arrowhead back in the 20’s then you may have stayed at the Willow Woods Park camp ground for only 50 cents per night! Today in 2014 the Park is offering event planning and has managed to keep the same buildings and charm from way back when. Willow Woods Park is run by the same two people who have mastered the art of Mountain Artisan Pizza, Lou York and Eddie Hillary from Lou Eddie’s Pizza.
This blurb comes from Willow Woods Park website:
“The Willow Woods area was a campground in the 1923-1927 period, with a fee of 50 cents per night. There were restrooms and a water faucet. There was one 16′ square war surplus tent for rent. In the late twenties, Lou and Grace Williams bought the lot and built three cabins for rent and a home for themselves on the highway. Over the years there have been a succession of owners, each one adding their own touch. It has been called Skyforest Resort, Shanty Town and now Willow Woods.”
Today Willow Woods Park is offering a venue for your special event, wedding ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner or just a reason to gather a bunch of friends. When you choose Willow Woods Park as your venue, all you have to do is bring the dress and the guests. The rest will be taken care of as part of your package, including, set up an tear down, food, cake, flowers and efficient.
There is a Bridal Suit and Groom Suit, along with private rooms for smaller more intimate parties. Two of the cabins can be rented out for a nights stay.
It is heard that Willow Woods Park has some of the oldest trees on their property that still stand strong. They have survived the fires and the many years of mountain weather.
