Have you seen the flashing PIZZA sign on Highway 18 and Kuffle Canyon? Well that is Lou Eddies Pizza and if you have not stopped in to try out this delicious new restaurant then I suggest you Stop, Drop and Pizza!
This February, 2014, marked the one year anniversary for Lou Eddies Pizza!
Ed Hillary and Louise York are the creators and masterminds behind this delicious pizza establishment. After Eddie decided his life as a Chemist did not suit him, he started working in restaurants and never looked back.
It took Lou and Eddie 3 years to open their doors, but once they finally did, the line out the door to order Pizza has not stopped. You might have noticed first off how small the seating area is, but do not let that stop you from ordering. Lou Eddies does not have table service, so make sure that you order first and then grab a seat from one of their many locations they offer throughout the grounds. There is seating in the main restaurant, if you grab a bar stool you can watch your pizza be hand made and cooked! There is also a Saloon downstairs with ample seating or you can grab a picnic-table outside when the weather is not so frightful! 😉 There is of course “Take Out” so that you can just order in, pick up and take home!
One thing I love about Lou Eddies, besides the Deer Meadow Pizza (I add bacon) $14.50… Is the fun vintage style décor that they have going on. They have these awesome lamp shades that are made out of olive buckets from Italy, the bar stools are the old stools from the Lake Arrowhead Yacht Club and the bar top is reclaimed bark beetle wood from Ponderosa Logs.
Lou Eddies is focusing on getting as many local vegetable and meats as they can. Right now on special they have a Hot Rocket Pie, it is a Sriracha & Wild Arugula pizza that has fresh Herbs from Running Springs and Sriracha cured bacon jerky from Arrowhead Jerky Works. I heard it is DY-NA-MITE! Lou Eddies also offers soups and salads for those who want to skip the pizza.
New this year is the BREWERY! YAY! We love beer, or well I do anyways! 😉 But for those of you who are craft beer lovers, Lou Eddies is brewing up some tasty beer in their Saloon! The equipment arrived last week (May 29) and Eddie is ready to start brewing. The beer will be up and running soon, so keep an eye out for the release! Not only does Lou Eddies have a saloon but they also have a wide variety of craft beers on tap and in bottle.
