“TAILS” of a Mountain Dog Groomer ~ Head to Tail ~ Crestline

Meet Tony Leonhardt, the Owner and Master Groomer of Head to Tail Pet Grooming in Crestline.  He has a heart of Gold, loves Crestline, is an awesome Father and Husband, and loves Jesus!  Here is Tony’s story…

Tony was a Navy Rescue Swimmer right out of High School.  His “at the time” girlfriend’s parents owned a pet grooming company and on Saturdays when he was home, they told him, “you have two options, stay home and clean the house or go to the shop and bathe dogs.”  I think it is pretty clear as to what Tony’s decision was.

Tony bought Head to Tail in 1992 at the young age of 22.  He has now spent over half of his life grooming dogs.  Tony states, “It is better to love a clean dog than a dirty dog!”  He has been in the business since 1989 where he first worked for a shop that groomed 100 dogs a day.  Currently he has three employees, Shane, Noreen and Leslie (Master Groomer), and he has been in his current shop since 2004. Combined there is a total of 70 years experience!

I had a chance to talk to one of Tony’s longest customers while I was interviewing him.  Cherie Radley said, “Tony is the best groomer on the mountain, I have been coming to him for 22 years.”  She says, her dogs get excited to see Tony, and it is his service that keeps her coming back!

On average Tony grooms 25-30 dogs a day… Okay, I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty impressive.  The shop is open from 8-5 Tuesday through Saturday.  When I asked Tony about making an appointment, he says it is not really necessary, although you can make one he states, but this is one of the things that makes him so great, he will not turn down a customer.   If you call that day, he will say, “yah bring him/her in, in about 30 minutes (or a specific time).”  For Tony his business is all about the customer and the service!

HAHA!  This picture (above) cracks me up.  There is so much hair flying around in the wash and dry area, that the dryers come in handy!

When it comes to pricing, each dog is priced different, and although some may say he is more expensive than other groomers, it is Tony’s service and ability to get your dog in and out quick!  Also there is NO cage drying done at Head to Tail. Your service will include; Wash, Cut, Nails, Pads, Ears, and Annal Glands (gulp, eww).

All it takes is one trip in to Head to Tail and you will see just how great this Grooming shop is.  The Service, the personal touch and the friendships.  Tony may not remember your name but if you tell him that Lassie is coming in, he knows exactly who you are, and he says he will see you soon!

I had fun chatting with Tony and watching him in action, although I know I held him back a little on time, I am thrilled that he took the time to tell me his story.  Tony, I think you are such a great person and you have touched so many lives over the years.  Keep on keeping with your energetic and happy self!  I wish you many more years of continued success.  Thank you for your grooming shop and what you do for the community! I’d also like to give a thanks to the pups in the pictures 😉 Can you tell they were thrilled to be on camera!

The Lake Arrowhead Awards Gala

This great event is one of my favorites.  This night is filled with great friends, food and dancing!  I have been so touched year after year with how this small community comes together.  This even is to recognize and honor the “Citizen of the Year.”  It goes to one individual who has gone above and beyond in the community from past years.  The night is usually in theme to the honorees personality and likes!

Arrowhead Professional Partners 2014 SOLDS

I am extremely excited to show off these beautiful color maps of Lake Arrowhead, Crestline and Running Springs.

This all started with a little idea back in the Fall of 2014.  We, “Arrowhead Professional Partners,” wanted a tool to use for our clients and for a visual display of all our SOLD properties. The hard part was, there were no maps anywhere to be found that we could use.  So what do you do when something does not exist?  You make it your self.

A very good friend of mine poured his heart, soul and artistic talent into these drawings.  Thank you Michael Lardi for your dedication and creative genius ability and skills.  Sophie, Michelle H. and my self worked on these maps along with Mike for months, perfecting every inch, making sure to cross our T’s and dot our I’s… or in our case, cross our streets ;-).

Polar Bear Plunge… Because Jumping in Freezing Water is FUN!

Get ready to jump in freezing water for charity.  This year marks the 7th annual Polar Bear Plunge.  I have not found the courage yet to jump in the freezing cold water, but I really like watching other people do it! 🙂

My Pick(s) of of the Day | January 15, 2015 | Lake Arrowhead

Hello and Happy Thursday/ Tour Day.  The Holidays are over and the tour days are looking good.  Today was a good day, there were lake views, lake fronts and large houses (some small ones too).

So my favorite of the day and I literally can not stop talking about it, is this amazing Lake Front on North Shore Rd.  It is listed at (gulp) a whopping $4,850,000 Million.  Now you might ask me if it is overpriced and I honestly can not say.  It is not in a gated neighborhood and it does not have a lot of land but I can say that it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  It was truly EXQUISITE! Very warm and inviting and very Restoration Hardware.  Basically, I loved it and it is probably one of the nicest lake fronts we have on the market right now.  So you can be the judge. 🙂

2142144_101_122142144_501_122142144_C01_122142144_R01_12My second favorite today was: 1004 Pintail Circle, listed by Bill Johnson from Mountain Country Realty, listed for $749,000… The pictures are not my favorite and trust me when I say, the house is better then you are lead to believe.  My favorite part about this house is the Mother-In-Law apartment above the garage.  It is a 2 bedroom and the perfect size for even 2 people!

My third favorite today is 698 San Benito Lane, listed for $449,000, listed by Michelle Hutton.  This house is in such a quiet area, level entry, over 3000k sq ft and is in such good condition.  WHY IS IT STILL ON THE MARKET?  I really think this one has been overlooked.  Take a look at these pictures!  Remember to contact me today with any questions or inquiries!

NYE 2014 Masquerade Ball at the Lake Arrowhead Resort

If you are looking for something to do on New Years Eve in the Lake Arrowhead area here is the NYE 2014 Masquerade Ball at the Lake Arrowhead Resort!  This is fun for the whole family.  There is even a kids room that will be available.
